Home Builders Bulletin

Happy Friday!  Our Parade of Homes is promising to be one of our busiest years!  Even though we only have 14 houses in the parade this year, we have already sold over 525 entry tickets!  If you are attending the Parade of Homes, please fill out a survey and turn into the last house you visit.  These survey’s determine the “People’s Choice Award” that will be featured on the cover of next year’s Parade of Homes Guidebook.  On another note, there will not be a Home Builders Bulletin next Friday as I will be attending the National Executive Officers Conference in Rhode Island all next week!

  • Last week the House & Senate passed H.R. 3221, the “Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008”.  This legislation contains a number of victories for Realtors and American home owners including GSE reform, FHA reform, Permanent loan limit increases, and a $7,500 homeowner tax credit.  This bill will help homeowners facing foreclosure find ways to refinance, and will help strengthen mortgage markets.

  • I have been receiving golf reservations over the fax machine.  Yesterday more than one fax tried to come through at one time, and unfortunately, instead of sending a busy signal, for some reason it went to voicemail!  I was able to send it back to the fax, but only half the fax comes through.  If you sent an RSVP for the golf outing over the past day, please let me know so I can confirm I received your reservations.

  • I have also been receiving phone calls from members who say they have not received any golf outing information yet, so we will be re-sending the invites & sponsor info with this bulletin.  I apologize to your fax machines for another busy fax day from the Home Builders.  If you would like to save on your fax paper & ink, I will be happy to add you to the email list.  Just send me a quick note, or give me a call and I will get you added.

  • Charlie Sample, the chairman of the community partnerships committee is looking for volunteers to help assemble the playground at Gateway on Monday the 4th of August.  He will be there all day.  If you can help, please call him at 269-876-7887
