- Our 12th Annual Parade of Homes is July 24th – August 3rd this year. Entry fees are the same as last year. Please see the contracts for deadline dates.
- This month’s general membership meeting will be a “speed networking” night. I currently have 11 builders signed up to participate, and there is still space available for associates. Sign up is a quick email or phone call away!

- Last week I mentioned the MAHB program, Builder Autos. For those of you who are not aware of the program Auto Discounts give you one percent BELOW factory invoice, free delivery to any location in Michigan, low pricing for foreign vehicles, and your HBA receives $100 for each vehicle purchased. In a joint effort between the MAHB and Team Hillsdale Automotive, Builder Autos has been formed to combine the aggregate buying power of the MAHB member base to secure cost reductions on cars, trucks and sport utility vehicle.
Benefits of the program include:
- One percent BELOW factory invoice
- Qualifying Officers Must Get Individual Builders Licenses—there is a little known piece of the professionalism package (signed into law by the Governor last month) that I want to make sure you are aware of. Beginning June 1st, any qualifying officer must also get an individual builders license or their corporate license will be suspended.
- Our regional meeting is coming up on Monday. This MAHB sponsored event will be held at the Kalamazoo HBA located at 5830 Venture Park Drive, Kalamazoo from 3:30 – 5:50. This meeting is held at no charge to the members. The SWMHBA would like to have a strong presence at this meeting so please take the time to be there and support your association.
- The NAHB Membership Works, 2007 report to members & benefits directory has arrived here at the SWMHBA. Watch for yours to be coming in the mail soon!
- Dell is offering double discounts to NAHB members February 1st – 29th. This means that Dell’s normal discounts of 3% to 5% to NAHB members will double to 6% to 10% on essential small business technology, including business-class desktops and cutting edge notebooks.
