NAHB and GM are expected to renew the program for 2008. During this transition period GM is still offering the $500 savings to all members. Until the 2008 program renewal is officially announced by NAHB and GM, contact Tiffany Smith at NAHB at 1-800-368-5242 x8273 if you are purchasing or leasing a GM vehicle and would like the savings. Through the end of the third quarter of 2007, there were 281 GM vehicles purchased under the 2007 program in Michigan. This amounts to a savings of over $140,000.

*  We are now taking applications for participation in the 2008 Parade of Homes.  The information is now available on the website, www.swmhba.com, or you can contact the SWMHBA office.

*  Next month’s general membership meeting will be a networking night.  Make a Date with a Builder.  Associates will have the opportunity to meet with 10 builders on a one-on-one basis.  The format will be a 5-minute presentation on a rotating schedule.  The concept will be similar to speed dating only in this case it will be “speed networking”!  Associates, here is your opportunity to meet with builders face-to-face and give them a quick pitch on your product or service.  I already have several members signed up.

*  I am updating the membership page on our website.  Please take the time to look at this page and check your information.  This page has so much information it is very difficult to verify the information is all correct. Please let me know if your information is missing, incorrect or needs to be added to another category.

*  Our conference/meeting room is available for rent. For those of you that have visited our office you know how professional and beautiful the room is. It can hold up to 14 people. Cost: $50.00 for members and $75.00 for non-members. Call the HBA office for more information.

*  The MAHB is holding a series of regional meetings.  Our regional meeting is scheduled for February 4, 2008 at the Kalamazoo HBA.  Area legislators have also been invited to attend. The SWMHBA would like its voice to be heard so we need to have a strong presence at this meeting.  This meeting is NOT just for board or committee members.  We would like the general membership to also participate.  If you have any questions, or need more information feel free to give me a call.
